Unfold, ride and conquer: Jasion EB7 ST e-bike is powerful and portable

Product: Jasion EB7 ST Electric Bike for Adults

I recently purchased the Jasion EB7 ST, and I’ve been thoroughly impressed by its performance and overall ease of use. Right out of the box, the bike was very simple to assemble—no misalignments or complicated steps. Within a short amount of time, I was ready to ride, and everything functioned flawlessly, including the brakes and derailleur, which both arrived well-adjusted.

Power & Range
Equipped with a 1200W peak (750W nominal) brushless motor and a 48V 10Ah lithium-ion battery, the EB7 ST offers plenty of power and a surprisingly good range. A charge using the external power brick charger takes no more than five hours, considerably less to just top off the battery.

In my test rides, I’ve surpassed 20 miles on varying terrain—everything from hilly backroads to off-road dirt trails—without fully depleting the battery. I weigh 180 pounds and you can add another 20 pounds for the bag I bring with me on rides, so we're talking a 200 pound load. It’s reassuring to see it live up to the (minimum) advertised mileage, and I suspect with more efficient pedaling, I’d be able to easily get 30 miles. Jasion pegs the range at 25-55 miles using pedal assist in its marketing.

Handling & Comfort
The handling has been excellent, both on pavement and off-road paths. The dual-suspension setup—80mm travel front suspension fork plus a rear suspension—does a fantastic job of smoothing out bumps. Paired with 20" x 3" fat tires, it grabs the trail well while offering a very comfortable ride. Even on rough surfaces, I felt confident maneuvering at various speeds. I did swap out the stock seat for a Velmia MTB seat ($37.99 on Amazon) and MZYRH CNC aluminum mountain bike pedals pedals ($24.29 on Amazon) for personal preference, with the but the bike was still perfectly rideable without those upgrades.

The key feature for me is the step-though frame that makes it very easy to mount and dismount and keeps the center of gravity low. This ease of handling has made it my favorite among my bikes and scooters for running errands, especially with multiple stops.

Folding & Portability
One major selling point is the folding design. When folded, it measures about 36" x 21" x 29", which is compact enough to fit in most SUVs or even a trunk if you arrange things carefully. While it’s not feather-light at 62 lbs, it’s manageable—just be prepared for a bit of a lift if you’re loading it into a vehicle.

Speed & Braking
The EB7 ST easily reaches speeds of around 26–27 mph in fifth gear, especially with a little help from pedaling. At that pace, it still feels stable, and the mechanical disc brakes are more than capable of bringing the bike to a quick halt. The bright headlight and adjustable rear light also give you extra peace of mind during night rides. I ride it in Center City, Philadelphia in heavy traffic and appreciate the bright, blinking brake light and animated turn signals.

Key & Additional Features
The one quirk I noticed is that the battery key needs to remain in place like an ignition key. You either take it with you when you park or leave it in, which some might find slightly inconvenient. It hasn’t been a real issue for me, though. I also added the optional rear-mounted metal basket, which has been fantastic for hauling groceries—or even a case of beer—making the EB7 ST a great everyday companion.

I repurposed the front basket mount to hold a FoldyLock Forever folding bike lock which works spectacularly. The lock is tough as nails and since the bike is electric I don't mind hauling its extra weight (versus the standard FoldyLock).

Overall, the Jasion EB7 ST offers a well-rounded package of power, comfort, and convenience. From its impressive out-of-the-box tuning to its reliable range and sturdy folding design, it hits all the marks for a versatile, economical e-bike. I've got over 200 miles on it and there's no sign it needs a tune-up as of yet. If you’re looking for an efficient commuter and errand-runner that can also handle weekend adventures, this folding electric bike is definitely worth considering.
